HOLIDAY!!!11 Part 2 [15/09/2008] Heh, so we got to Japan, only I was a bit sick for our stay in Osaka, and Takayama has no internets, so tonight is the first night i get to update the blog! A massive 39 pictures await to tantilise your vision, so go get a cup of tea and take it in: Firstly, wireless internet is awesome. Secondly, japan is hot. In fact, at the moment, it's hotter than malaysia. Here i'm checking the weather on my DS at KL airport in mcdonalds. Eating a mcdonalds big breakfast (WHICH DOES NOT EXIST IN AUSTRALIA GOD DAMN YOU). Anyway, it's hot: OMG WE'RE IN JAPANS: Here's our view from our Ryokan in Ueno, vending aplenty: And the next day, jump on a bullet train to Osaka! Watching the countryside speed by at approx 170 km/h: Here's our view from our Osaka hotel, you'll have to tilt your head/monitor on it's side, because i'm too lazy to rotate this photo and re-upload it hahah: Here's how to use a japanese toilet, because it has no less than 14 buttons that all shoot water into different places: Osaka is pretty awesome, heaps of shopping and eating and people. Hahahah, now that i look at this picture again, kind of looks like that dummy is about to jump out and mug someone. He has a dodgy look in his plastic eye. Here is someone making a crepe for Cristen: 6 o'clock! Time for 6 million people to come home from work and go shopping! A better night time view from our hotel: This sign is trying to convince us that we are not on the street, but inside a tiny metal city: A japanese business catches the train, unaware that i'm taking a photo of him and uploading it to the internet with humorous commentary: Japanese man: Time to go home and eata the rice!!! THIS GATE IS NOT RIGHT!! DO YOU HEAR ME?!?!?!?!!?! Aparently, the worlds largest ferris wheel. Who wants to go on wikipedia and look that one up? It's in osaka: In the japanese forest, you'll find blue jelly bean men: Penguins! I love penguins, especially with rice: At long last, my life long dream of seeing a whale shark is complete. They are pretty big, but not full size (which is about 2 times as big). I think these are baby whale sharks, only about 6 - 7 meters long, a full size one is about 14 meters! A lot of fish in this aquarium are very large, and the tank is meant to be the largest in the world (it's friggen huge). It's like underwater jurassic park: HOLY F**KING JEBUS: Nice to see the home turf represented well in Osaka: When a japanese man has a hard earned thirst, he gets one of these: Of course, unless he's not retarded, he drinks japanese beer which sh*ts all over vb, which should be illegal outside of victoria. Here's another part of Osaka: And another part! Now it's night time and we've shopped and eaten and it's time for the sreep. The have *giant* corn here?!?!?! And *BIG* SAUSAUGE?!?!? I AM A MATURE ADULT. Am I right ladies?! Here Bert and Ernie are having a party, only Ernie said something wrong and Bert has cracked it. Bert swears at Ernie, saying they should have never adopted, Ernie pretends not to hear and the little girl dies a little inside. I'm sure there were delicious cookies inside that tin also. I bought delicious snacks for people but we ate them on the train. They're mini chocolate ice-creams! They're awesome, I'll try and find more, but if not, just try and imagine the deliciousness through the monitor and that's your overseas gift from us: Off to Takayama! It's in the mountains, away from lights and the internet. When you walk in, they smash this huge drum and welcome you. Then you eat delicious food in your room, served to you by little old ladies in kimonos. People, do you remember all those movies you used to watch, which the Samurai sat in his castle and then all the servants would rush around and serve his every whim? That's what it's like to stay in a Onsen Ryoken in Takayama. You are a samurai. It's true. Here's our view of the country side. An Onsen is a japanese spa house, where you get a large bath filled with boiling hot mineral water pumped from the mountains or rivers, and you get to relax all day, then you come back and have food served to you. It's very awesome. Here's breakfast. This is *one* course. Breakfast is about 2 courses, dinner is about friggen 4. I love these guys on TV, they go everywhere dressed as ye old gentlemen with wine glasses, but they never drink the wine: We biked out to see a folk village off in the hills next to Takayama city central. I'm fanging it up the hill: Ye old folk buildings of japanese yor: Ye old wooden japanese cow. Ok, it's 1:30am and we're getting up early to see the amazing fish market where you see all sorts of crazy stuffs, so i'll try and post more regularly as we have traditional internet in our traditional ryoken, and i can post on my traditional laptop! Woo! Pay day tomorrow! No more eating from vending machines! Go back to main page... All content on this site is copyright of me, 2006 to whenever.
