Recording Hooray! [19/02/2010] So yay, i spent a whole heap of money on some really pro recording stuff, time to test it out! Here's me testing out my new mics on my twin: Yay for drum mics! I got a Shure 52, 3 Shure 57s and 2 Audio Techinca AT2020s... Inside of my 8 channel Yamaha mic pre... niiice and clean and moddable! I'm gonna put some sockets in there later so i can swap ICs and experiment with sound... OSKA COME LOOK AT MY YAMAHA MLA7 IT'S AWESOME! In the studio (rehearsal room) hahah! You can see the AT2020s set up in the 'Glyn Johns' setup for recording drums with only 4 mics. There's one directly above the snare, and the second one sits behind the tom facing the snare and hi-hat. AT2020 facing the hi-hat and snare. Weird sideways photo of the top mic. Beta 52 on kick: The heart of it, my Toshiba laptop, Motu 828 mk3 and Yamaha MLA7 mic preamp Sarah checks out the mix: Lots and lots of cables. I never realised how expensive cables are... but they're god damn expensive when you run 10 channels of shit. Good ol' Jaguar sitting next to the headphone amp. Playstation controller for a DAW transport control ftw! Best transport controller ever (PUN). You see, triangle is play, square is stop, circle is record and X is undo. Left and right control fast forward and rewind! Never had to touch the mouse through the whole session :) Sounds good! Really happy with the drum sound... next step is chucking tom mics and a room mic! Go back to main page... All content on this site is copyright of me, 2006 to whenever.
